October 30, 2012 Scouting Cams are Addictive!

Scouting cameras are everywhere (I mean you can probably buy one in the grocery store if you look hard enough) and it's easy to see why.  I've been using them for several years now and they've really added to my enjoyment of the outdoors.
My first one was a present from my beloved about ten Christmases ago.  I can't recall the brand but it was a bulky, 35mm number (that's film, not digital for some of my younger friends).  It consumed a ton, literally, of D batteries but the Olympus camera within took some great shots.  I have a bunch of the pictures filed away somewhere.  If I ever get around to scanning them I will post some here.  Anyway, it was a cool camera and someone else apparently thought so too.  One afternoon I went to check it and there was only an empty space on the ancient maple I'd strapped it to.  Stolen!  If I ever get my hands on.....sorry, I digress.
Lately I've been using a couple Bushnells for a couple years and recently purchased a Hunten model.  Digital it the way to go.  I love switching out those little SD cards and can hardly wait to get home to see what's been captured electronically.  Sometimes I will carry an older digital camera along and use it as an image viewer.  You never know what you're going to see.  I have photos of deer, bobcats, foxes, owls, turkeys, squirrels, possums, coyotes, feral cats, dogs and even a few trespassers (luckily they didn't steal my cams).
This morning I was thinking, why not post some of the pictures on here.  Maybe you will enjoy them as much as I do.
I have a whole bunch of shots of this button buck but love this one if particular because of the fall colors.
This nanny is apparently not photo-shy.  I'll bet she saw stars for a while after the flash got her.
